AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there and was integral in the team's winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest athlete of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
