Lee has written Terry Prather, SeaWorld's president protesting Tilikum's treatment of Tilikum. Lee believes that the animal should be freed and stated that SeaWorld could not be a good partner as Tilikum is their main donor of the sperm. Lee admitted that he was shocked by SeaWorld's sick and convoluted methods for obtaining Tilikum Sperm. Lee said he was trying to avoid tragedies similar to trainers being killed as this was caused by the whales' inability to be kept in captivity.
